Last post for 2011

Hi!
This year has been a great year. I have been rather busy since the start of my holiday and now i have started working. So... i have zero time to do a recap post for 2011. What i wanna say is that i hope 2012 would not be the end of the world and also it will be an even awesome year because this would be the year i enter poly! hahah If i can enter lahh. *cross fingers* This shall be my final outfit post for 2011! So cheers! In about 30 mins time, it will be 2012! After blogging, i'm going to eat maggie mee. heh. So i have been thinking about what courses i should take when i get back my results.
There are 3 main courses which i'm interested in.

1) Diploma in Marketing, Temasek Polytechnic.
So basically the first year i will be learning generally. From the 2nd year onwards, i will be specialise in Marketing.

2) Diploma in Business Administration, Singapore Polytechnic
Basically i will learn generally for year 1 and 2. For the 3rd year, i will be speciallise into two different courses. I will most probably be choosing marketing, retail management or advertising and public relations.

3) Diploma in Business Studies, Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
I will be learning generally for the first twp years as well. For the third year, i will specialise into marketing since it is my option.

So there? I'm aiming to go University and i know i would stand a higher chance if i were to go JC. But no, i doubt i will be going. My teacher told me that it didn't matter whether which course i take because at the end of the day, what matter most is the degree. True but come to think of it, no. Yes, what matter most is the degree but if i were to specialise in marketing, i might be able to spend one less year in University right? So now, I'm in a dilemma.











Anyway, i just found out what is actually the difference between marketing vs advertising and public relations.
'The best way to distinguish between advertising and marketing is to think of marketing as a pie, inside that pie you have slices of advertising, market research, media planning, public relations, product pricing, distribution, customer support, sales strategy, and community involvement. Advertising only equals one piece of the pie in the strategy. All of these elements must not only work independently but they also must work together towards the bigger goal. Marketing is a process that takes time and can involve hours of research for a marketing plan to be effective. Think of marketing as everything that an organization does to facilitate an exchange between company and consumer.'

Xmas gifts

So i did about 20+ christmas cards this year! I started a few weeks back before christmas! I did it while watching a childhood drama show. I think the cards turn out fine! haha. I did it alllll by myself apart from the machine's help in shaping out the snowman!









Glad that some of my friends texted, tweeted and posted on my fb wall saying they luv it :) It brings a smile to my face.

Xmas

I had work again that day. It has always been a routine to celebrate Christmas at my grandpa & ma's house! We had turkey, ham and bee hoon again. It was awesome as usual. I was feeling pretty tired though. I stood for 7 hours straight at warehouse, Orchard Ion which apparently is one of the most crowded outlet in sg.

Xmas eve

I rushed over after work to my cousin's house last sat to celebrate Christmas! Yes. We ate the usual food- Turkey, ham, beehoon and curry! Luv my aunt's curry! She is rly an awesome cook! I had work the very next day and i was in the morning shift. But apparently after much persuasion by my cousins, i slept at 3:18am. omg! Surprisingly, i didn't feel the slightest tired. So well.. it was cool!

Work

Day 1:

Meet up with Jia Yee and headed down to somerset to sign on our contracts. We went to eat lunch at Orchard Central @ the burger shop which i wanted to eat sometime ago. Applied make up on our faces in the toilet before heading down to Taka. It was going to rain then. I remember looking at the time and it was 1:08pm. We were both nervous. We weren't working together. I send Jia Yee off and slowly made my way to Orchard Ion. Jia Yee's working at Warehouse, Taka while I'm working @ Orchard Ion's one. My heart was thumping. I was feeling nervous. I took a deep breath and walked towards the counter. The people there were nice but still strangers to me. I was told to be at the front. It was weird and out of place but i slowly got used to it. At the end of the day, i don't feel out of place anymore :) Raynor, Ryan, Marie and Thiam hock came to visit me and Jiayee! Hui Shi and Weishin dropped by too!

Day 2 of work:

My feet hurt even more. Time passed by slowly. There wasn't a lot of customers so i just stood there. When standing, my feet hurts even more. So i tried to find things to do. I got to learn more people there. It was less strange. They were nice. Rly nice! I got to know another part time girl named Samantha. She doesn't look like she is from University. I spent my time at the front with her that day. I started being more familiarize with the operations there. I have to clock in, sign in and check my card in whenever i report to work. I like serving customers and it kinda makes my day when i see the customers i served, smile :) It keeps me busy and time flies faster too. Second day was a lot better. Thiam Hock and Marie came by again! Made my day:>

Day 3 of work:

I got to know Yen whose apparently is 18! She is one of the first few people i actually really talked to. I think she is really sweet. :) I spent my day with her and my feet didn't hurt at all. The night before, my cousins "massage" my right foot. lmao. I was 8 minutes late for work though. I slept at my cousin's house at 3:18am in the morning. I have different double eyelid on both sides of my eyes. So when my cousin helped me with the eye liner. It looked as if one of my eyes had applied too much eye liner. I had lunched at the storeroom and i ate my lunch with Cindy and Amalia! It was great chatting with them. The third day was even better than the first and the second. :>

Day 4 of work:

I met up with Jia Yee for lunch! Well, we were supposed to meet early but i woke up a little later. So in the end, we had little time. We spent 3/4 of the time in the toilet to do our make up. There were further reductions for sales and it got me excited. I quickly went to reserve some tops. ( partly for work) I met a girl who stood with me at the front. She is from Miss selfridge and apparently she was being posted here for a day. It was nice knowing her! My parents came to meet me after work. My little cousins, Eunice and Shawn came to surprise me too! I was damn happy when i see them! Before they came, my 3rd aunt dropped by too :):) Time seemed to fly because i ended work in the blink of an eye.

That's all. Bottom line: I like my job more as each day passed :):) And yes, i like the people who are working with me. Aw! I'm happy :)

A wish

CHRISTMAS WAS GREAT!

Everything's great.

I'm starting to like my job even more. The people there are nice and all.

I like being busy.

I'm working tomorrow from 2pm till the shop closes.

Warehouse @ Orchard Ion is always crowded! I like it this way.

New Year is coming. I'm gonna plan my resolutions.

I need to learn more about the courses i wanna go to when I attend Poly too next year.

I need to pack away the books and worksheets all rotting on my table on Friday.

Aunt ask me if i wanna go kbox this Sat. It's gonna be fun!

I'm working on the 1st of jan too!

Pity can't go to Eunice's suprise b'dae party because there will be a bbq gathering @ my paternal side family and i have work.

The BBQ food there would be awesome!

Work

Hi!
I have started working like finally! If you are wondering, I'm currently working at Warehouse, Ion orhard! So if you guys happen to pass by Warehouse, pop in to say hi! Today was okay! Most of the staffs were friendly. They say i have to apply make up. I suck at applying it! My feet is aching now and I am going to sleep soon. I am working morning shift tomorrow and the next day too.. so i need to wake up early! Goodnight:)

And btw! I doubt i will be able to blog till sunday night cuz i will prolly be staying over at my cousin's house tmr night. Sooooo...
